We are living fantastic days in Edinburgh, a city full of festivals all year, even more, during the summer times like now. Unfortunately, the weather doesn't think the same someday

Even so, we keep enjoying the cultural life of the city. A few weeks ago, we had the great Jazz, and Blues Festival, where we find amazing artists from different part of the world and styles, like, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Folk, and Bossa Nova.

In this case, we want to present the multicultural Bossa Nova Band, conformed for people from Italy, Scotland, Portugal, Chile, New Zealand, Indonesia, Argentina and Denmark. The band is re-taking the style giving it a refresh and contemporary.

The Bossa Nova music is a Brasilian style that makes a lyrical fusion of Samba and Jazz. It was created in the early 50' and popularised around the world during the 60'.

The leading exponents and creator of this style are of course João Gilberto, was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist [1950–2019], Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim aka Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian composer, pianist, songwriter, arranger and singer [1927-1994], Stan Getz, was an American jazz saxophonist [1927-1991]. These three artists were vital in the developed style.

Now in Edinburgh 69 year after, the Bossa Nova Band bring us this renovation with a fresh sound to enjoy this lovely music again.

The band is composed of Lewis Forbes in piano, Femme Sihite in Guitar, Brad Gamble in Bass, Andrea Agricola with the Bass and Percussion, Lola Bengen in Percussion, Mariana Matias in Voice, Helena Redman in Flure, Derek MacCann in Soprano and Baritone Sax, and Diego Rojas in Alto Sax. It was created a few months ago with the idea of bringing the Latin rhythm to the heart of Scotland.
